Moong Beans Appe 1

Ingredients
 Green gram (मूंग छिलके)- 60 gm (soaked overnight
 Suji/ Semolina/ Rava- 20 gm
 Ginger (अदरक)-½ inch cube
 Black peppercorns (काली मिर्च)- ⅓ tsp
 Fresh coriander leaves (धनिये के पत्ते)- a small bunch (chopped)
 Asafoetida (हींग)- one pinch
 Onions (प्याज)- 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
 Tomato (टमाटर)- 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
 Carrot (गाजर)- 1 tbsp (grated)
 Spinach (पालक)- 20 gm -optional
 Green chilli- 1 (finely chopped)
 Chaat masala (चाट मसाला)- ⅓ tsp
 Ghee (घी)/ oil- 1 tsp = 5 ml
 Salt to taste
 Sesame seeds- 1 Tsp = 5 gm
 Eno fruit salt / Baking soda- ½ Tsp
 Water as needed
Method

Grind green moong dal, ginger, green chilli, black pepper, fresh coriander, spinach to make a fine paste. Add water to make slightly runny consistency.

In another bowl mix onion, tomato, carrot, suji and salt, heeng, chaat masala, black pepper, sesame seeds & dal batter.

Mix dal batter and veggies, adjust seasonings.

In dal paste add eno fruit salt or baking soda. (This step is done just before to make appe.)

Grease appe pan with oil.

Pour the batter till ¾of the capacity of the appe pan.

Cover and cook for 3-4 mins till crisp from bottom.

n between add little oil on the sides (optional). Cover again and cook for 1-2 mins. Flip it and let them cook from another side too.

Serve it with the chutney of your choice.
